I modeled and rendered this image in Pro-e Wildfire 5. It's the software I use at work. It is for a contest at Planet PTC. Just thought I would share it with you.

4th of July vintage card sculpt

I was a bit late but I did finally finish my sculpt for the vintage 4th of July card sculpt. It was a swap so it is off to Arlene in NY. Thought I would post a picture of it and the card I used as inspiration.

Power is back on!

Power is back on! We only had to go four and a half days without it. Still don't have to go back to work. Marshall Space Flight Center will be down for at least two more days. As bad as it sounds I accept the time off with no guilt.

What a crazy week.

I haven't posted in a while, because I have been getting ready for a show that was to be this weekend. But was concelled because on wednesday all  hell broke loose with the weather around here. There were tornados going all around us, fortuanlly we are safe without any damage to life or property. Some of our family and friends were not as lucky. I ask you to please keep everyone envolved in these deadly storms in your prayers.

We have been without electricty since wednesday night of  last week  and it is not expected to be back on untill tuesday at the earilest, and our area was hit the least. The area's that was hit the hardest will not be getting their power back untill thursday or friday.

The funny thing is, I have never seen so many kids in the neighborhood out playing. They are playing ball, tag and just running around. Their paranets are even out perticipating. It is amazing when they are forced to ditch the video games that they choose to be outside in the fresh air. And I am included in that group.

Again please keep the familys that lost loved ones and homes in  your parayers.

Einstein is almost there.

I finally got to work on him again. He has actually been a lot of fun to make. I am making some books for the back bike rack and having a brass plate engraved for it. Then he will be finished. Sorry for the quality of the photo's. I have got to build a light box, because I can never seem to time it so I can shoot outside in good daylight.

Einstein is being stubborn and is not finished yet.

I was hoping to have him finished by now, but he still needs a bow tie, a jacket, a base and a hair style. Maybe tonight. But here are a few shots of how he is coming along.

Einstein is next.

Here is the next sculpt. It's the middle head from the previous post Three Heads. I have always wanted to sculpt Einstein, so here's a few pic's of the progress. He will be riding the bike pictured below. Finishing up the body, hands and feet tonight. Then a long night of doing the clothing, my slowest part.

I am still not sure is he will have a full sculpt body or a cloth body. Need to decide that pretty quick.

Dobby got a sock.

I finished this one last night. Dobby finally gets his freedom, once he was given a sock. He is a full body sculpt out of pro-sculpt polymer clay, with hand painted glass eyes. He is about eight inches tall if he was standing.

The Scout

I got some time in the studio this part week, and have gotten the elf scout almost finished. I still have to work on a base for him, and maybe an accessory or two.

Work on the three heads continues

I decided to work on the elf head first. This is where it is headed. He is a scout for the lake regions that he lives in. He will be sitting on a lilly pad taking a break and having a smoke on his pipe when he is finished.
The frog is an old companion of his since childhood. More as it developes. Any comments to help it along would be most appreciated. Thanks Darel

 

Finally got some sculpting time

I finally got some sculpting time. Not much but here are three heads that I have gotten ready for cooking. It was a very good Saturday. I am hoping to have the bodys, hands and feet done  this week. Will post more pic's as I get further along.
