Great to be snowed in!

After working 24 straight days, and 10 to 12 hour days, getting snowed in for Christmas was a double blessing. It was a wonderful white Christmas which is a rare thing in Alabama.

Working the long hours and Peggy with her leg broke, did not leave time for sculpting, but now with the week off and Peg's leg on the mend, I hope to have some things to post soon. I will start posting as soon as it starts coming together.

This year is gong to be an interesting one. I plan to put a greater priority on my art. I have a couple of shows I plan to do. One that I am all ready committed to that is in April. So now the pressure is on to sculpt. I do seem to work better when I am under pressure. I haven't done a show in four years. Scary!

Ohhhh a true White Christmas...how awesome!! I called and talked to my cousin Christmas morning and she told me how beautiful everything looked up there. I'm happy it snowed just so you could have some you and Peggy time...LOL!!! You will do great at the show and I'm so excited to see what you are going to be sculpting. It's going to be a great year!!

Darel,

I'm glad that you were able to finally get some time off. Sounds like you have been burning the candle at both ends and really needed the break. Thank goodness for snow! I hope you enjoyed your time of rest and relaxation.

I hope that you and Peg are doing fine and that her leg is on the mend. She'll be up and running the marathon before ya know it. hehe

I can't wait to see what you are working on. Isn't it amazing what we can accomplish when we are working under a timeline? haha I have also been extremely busy working on commissions lately. I have finally managed to get caught up and can begin to think of working on things that have been tucked away in my head. I am planning on some pieces that will fit IADR's coming up contest this year and a couple pieces with some new ideas I want to try out.

What show are you going to be doing in April? I had thought you mentioned coming to IDEX here in Orlando at the end of the month, but perhaps I read something wrong some place. haha

Anyway, take care!

Lori, so nice to hear from you. I thought you were very busy by some of your last few post. I love the work you have been posting. I had planned on doing IDEX but with work, the Holidays and Peggy's leg. I decided it would be a bit too much trying to get a show ready. I have been aceppted to show at Panoply here in Huntsville the last week of April. So I am busy trying to get things ready for that. I wish you the best of luck at IDEX. I know you will do well.

Hey Darel,

Yes, I thought I was going to pull my hair out for a while, but I managed through the time crunch. Sorry, you'll not be at IDEX but believe me...I understand completely as it sounds as if you have been just as wrapped up as I have been. :-D I wish you luck Huntsville, I know you will be well-received with your wonderful creations. Remember to put some pics up so I can see what you have been working hard as a beaver over! How is Peg's leg coming along? I hope she is getting about much better. Having a bum leg really is a pain and makes things so much harder.

Anway, take care, and get to posting some pics would ya! I'll be posting some of the new piece I am working on hopefully in the next few days.

Hugs,
Lori
